USB Powered External Disk Drive
Combining
the power of USB with a large capacity disk drive brings a range
of advantages for new and older computers alike.
Using the standard USB port as its power source we have come up
with an interesting power saving external disk drive that doesn't
use a mains plug for power. Packing an astonishing 60gb of storage
space into a case weighing 130g and only measures 7cm x 10cm x 1cm!
(about the size of a Audio cassette! Remember those?). It comes
with a protective carry case, USB cable and drivers.
These run at a seriously fast 5400rpm and can transfer up to 480Mbits
per second through a USB 2 connector. Older notebooks running USB
1.1 can still take advantage of the huge capacity at 12Mbits per
second.
It will work with any PC fitted with a USB port and running Windows
98 Second Edition or newer. The disk is formatted with NTFS suitable
for Windows XP. If you need a different format such as FAT or FAT32
just let us know.
We've tested this drive with as many disk intensive systems as
we can. Connected to a computer via USB 2.0 and performed many operational
tests including installing and running Navigator, and other media
intensive applications directly from this drive with out any problems.
We use these drives on the move for transporting data, in the studio
as Media Drives and at home for backing up my pictures and music.
They are cost effective, convenient, extremely compact and generally
an all round superb piece of kit!
Comes
with a 3 year manufacturers warranty and a 90 day in house exchange
warranty.
